Skydiving equipment

from:

When you are skydiving, it is vital that you are fully equipped to properly manage the skydiving and also to free you from any possibilities of any untoward incidents that may happen. Basically, there are five pieces of equipments used in skydiving. Skydiving is not possible, with one equipment missing. This is to ensure that you stay safe and comfortable while skydiving.
1. Parachute. Skydiving will of course not feasible with the absence of the parachute. The parachute is the main equipment since this is the one that slows down your fall and descent and makes you safe for landing.

The parachute has three main parts: the main canopy, the reserve canopy and the harness-container system.

Another important feature of the parachute is that the canopy is rectangular with an inflatable wing, open in the front to scoop, or ram air. The parachute is forced to stay filled by the fact that it is sewn closed in the back. In case the main canopy fails, the
reserve canopy can be deployed.

2. Since the canopies are carried in a backpack, it is important that it is tied strongly to the nylon straps that make up a harness or support. The harness is buckled around the thighs, chest, and shoulders of a jumper and attaches to the base of the parachute risers, four straps between the jumper's shoulders and the suspension line of the canopy. These lines make the skydiver certain that the canopy stays connected to him during the entire duration of the fall.

3. Jumpsuit. Most people have the idea that they can wear anything when they go skydiving, which is not true. The jumpsuit is far from a fashion statement but rather as a protection against the winds and other things that you may encounter while on the air. This also a big help when you have a bad landing such that this protects your skin from getting cut and scratches from the fall.

4. AAD. In case that the user or the diver becomes incapacitated while at the air, or lose track of the altitude, and needs to deploy one of the parachutes, in a specific altitude, most skydivers have an automatic activation device or the AAD that allows to do the task. This can save your life in emergencies and unlikely fall.

5. Altimeter. Most skydivers use an altimeter and an audible altitude alert to assist when taking the fall. This gadget allows the skydivers to track the descent, reminding to open the parachute when he has reached the canopy deployment altitude.

6. Protective gears. Skydiving is considered an extreme sport and therefore like the others a protective gear is necessary to ensure safety. These gears include protection such as a helmet and padding for your knees and elbows. It’s also not a bad idea to have a spine protector, which is quite useful if you fall on your back when you land. In order to protect their eyes during their rapid descent, skydivers have goggles and they also wear lightweight head protection and footwear suitable to their landing site. They might even have light gloves, should the conditions during the jump be cold.
This equipment might be costly for your budget. If your budget seems to be lacking to complete these, you can borrow from a companion who also does skydiving. Remember that skydiving is not safe if you lack any of these. If lacking better skip it off and think twice. If you can borrow well better for you. Always consider first your safety and level of preparedness before making that fall.
