Getting your skydiving certification
from:You had you first skydive and you want more! Skydiving can be a dangerous sport but can be done safely. There are various way to have your skydiving lessons, yet the result of the training for skydiving depends on the person taking the lesson itself.
Getting certified is a way for you to have access to skydiving. Here are the steps for sky diving certification.
1.Skydiving is a costly sport and you should decide whether you are really sure of investing money and effort to take the class. The first thing you can do to train yourself is to try a tandem skydive. Tandem skydive allows you to be attached to your instructor with support. The instructor controls the whole jump from exit through freefall, piloting the canopy and landing. The student needs only minimal instruction before making a tandem jump. By browsing the net, you can easily find skydiving schools to assist you in getting certified Find a dropzone that is near you and affiliated with the USPA.
2.Complete the Accelerated FreeFall, or AFF Course. The Accelerated Freefall (AFF) course is a new progressive fast track skydiver training program which takes from complete beginner to Category 8 qualified skydiver in 8 jumps. The course starts with a day of ground training with the AFF instructor on equipment, aircraft exit, freefall, in air training signals and parachute control. The requirements for the course can vary depending on the dropzone, but usually there are seven levels. There are maneuvers that you will need to do for each level.
3.Before getting your first AFF jump, it is a must that you have to go through and finish a First Jump Course, where you learn about gear, hand signals, emergency procedures, and malfunctions. These and other things will help you stay safe during your jump.
4.In levels 1 through 3 of the AFF course, you wear your own parachute when you exit the airplane, but exit with two instructors that will hold on to you. They will give you hand signals to tell you directions and if you need to correct the position of your body. They are making sure that you know how to do things. The two instructors stay with you until you pull the parachute. If your parachute isnt pulled by the time you get to a certain altitude, they do it for you. They break away from you after your parachute deploys, but there will be one that is on the ground that gives you directions so that you land safely.
5.During the last levels of the AFF course, you will be exiting with one instructor. They wont be holding to you unless there is a problem, and youll need to do maneuvers that are harder than the first three levels.
Once you have finished and completed your course, you are ready to go out on your own. Its not a bad idea to work with a coach for a bit before you go out with your friends. You can join the USPA member and get your license.
