Tips for first time skydivers
from:Many find skydiving a great flying experience. And this has motivated some to try the sports. First time skydivers have the usual fears before taking the dive. And yet there is the want to learn how to skydive like an experienced skydiver. Anyone who wishes to become should understand the basic rules and all the risks involved. Such preparation will minimize the risks involved with the sport.
Before making a try, check first if you are qualified for skydiving.
Like all extreme sports, skydiving has an age restriction, set at 18 years. Parental consent is not valid to allow a minor to jump. No exemptions. Moreover, there is also a minimum weight requirement of less than 250 pounds, in order to be 100% sure that your landing will not bring up any problems.
Good health is also necessary though not considered as a pre-requisite. If you can pull your chute line, you can skydive at it's best, and this was never a problem for people.
If you saw yourself qualified to the basic requirements and have taken the skydiving courses, here are some tips for you before making the fall.
1. Review your knowledge. What you learned should not only be memorized but rather understood. Think about your skydiving courses and what you learned. This will minimized your fears and give you the confidence since you know what you are doing and if you are doing it right. The lessons will guide you on what to do in all types of situations.
As part of your lessons, wear protective clothing. You should never wear clothes that will limit your moves, sandals or open toed shoes. Wear protective gears and googles to support your body.
2. Prepare yourself mentally and psychologically. It is vital that you relax yourself and free your mind from uncertainties in making the fall. Get your mind ready and be alert to instructions. Elevate your stress. Research how to use your pressure points to do away with your stress. Being calm and not crammed will give you the presence of mind and let you enjoy skydiving better.
3. Enjoy. Skydiving and the purpose of having it will be useless if you see yourself covered with fears and worries while making the fall. You should ENJOY! Don't let your fears keep you from having fun. Relax and have the presence of mind in what you do.
No one expects you to do the skydiving perfectly on the first try. You have to learn and practice your skills to improve your skydiving experience. The important thing in your first try is that you are able to do it with confidence and removed your fears and able to practice what you learned in real action.
